The History of De Villiers Motors!

The Company was founded by the late Mr. PA de Villiers when he acquired the premises at 38 High Street Worcester in 1986. Mr de Villiers primarily started selling selected preowned vehicles under DE VILLIERS AUTO and was well known in town as the “go to guy” when you need a vehicle.

His son, Mr Jean de Villiers, joined the company after school and is the current Director of PA De Villiers and Son.

The company then approached Mazda and started selling the brand in the 90’s, but unfortunately with the Mazda/Ford alliance, we were compelled to let the brand go to the Ford dealership.

With no franchise available to us we approached Daewoo motors, which exceeded all our expectations for a couple of years. Unfortunately, with the GM alliance with Chevrolet, we had to part ways again with Daewoo Motors.

In 2006 Hyundai South Africa approached us to start a new venture as Hyundai Worcester, and the company, till this day, is still part of the Hyundai family. The Hyundai brand has been an enormous contributor to the growth of the company.

In 2014 we started with construction to extend our premises and double the volume since 1986. The focus was to meet requirements from OEM and exceed vehicle sales in the region.

This year 2022 we opened with Mitsubishi Motors Worcester premise next to the current Hyundai dealership.
